Creative Projects

Alongside my work as a journalist, I also write stories that imagine new futures and reimagine timeless questions — whether through the lens of dystopian fiction or children’s literature.

Here’s a look at two projects that are close to my heart.

Title: “Project Zero” (a YA novel)

Tagline: A YA dystopian novel about survival, AI, and the fight for truth.

The pitch: In a fractured future, a girl named Savij discovers an ancient AI tablet that holds the power to teach, heal and reveal — but also a dangerous truth. Project Zero explores resilience, technology and the timeless drive for freedom.

Co-written by Louay Khraish, the novel is our first, but not our first collaboration. We’ve also written a reality show treatment called “The D League” about my time play co-ed softball in the gay league, creating online personality, Gabby Blunt, who fans still celebrate.

Status: Completed draft, seeking representation.

Title: Teoti & the Little Fire (Children’s picture book)

Tagline
: Lyrical picture book about courage, love, and becoming Real.

The pitch: Teoti & the Little Fire is a children’s story of hope, magic, and belonging — written for my goddaughter, Aracely “Я” Herrera. As her fairy godmother, I wanted to gift her a tale filled with courage, love, and imagination. But it’s also written for all children who deserve to see themselves reflected in timeless stories that honor the transformative power of believing.

Status: Completed draft, seeking representation.
